The Vote Donkey Era Begins

Dear fellow donkeys and the not so intelligent others,

As of last night, shortly before 7 o'clock, I, Matthew Holmes, was elected the next President of the MSU College Democrats. With such events transpiring, the VOTE DONKEY era has officially begun at Mississippi State University. The rains of March and April has and will be sweeping and cleansing away the dung that the Republicans have left behind under their heard of misguided and Benedict Arnold like elephants (more on benedict republicans later). In a few days, the sun will rise over May and the summer of rejuvenation and invigoration that will bring us great blue democratic skies, the skies that show GOD really is a Democrat and a fellow donkey (if God was a republican, the skies would be red, but that color was reserved for the Devil himself).

With the rise of blue skies and the pretty summer days that come with school letting out, we as Democrat Donkeys must remember and pledge that the summer is not a time of vacation. Instead, this summer brings with it a time better fight for the Democratic Party, the United States of America, the state of Mississippi, and the Bulldogs of Mississippi State. It is a time to increase the fight for and with our fellow brethren who put life and liberty on their backs and carry it through the sweat of their brow. The heat is strong in the summer and so shall be the Democratic Party. We are the workhorse of political parties and for fair and equal rights. It is time we live up to our duties as Americans and Mississippi citizens and push for a greater future and do it now. We must also fight without reservation and without hesitation. We are Democrats, We passionately Believe fully in what we strive for, and We will not rest until our work is done.

From now until the end of my term in April of next year, I pledge that the fight will be taken to the halls of government and to the people for the people. We will sweat under the beating sun, we will strive through the fall but not waiver with the changing of the season, we will bundle up and go door to door in the winter, and we will slosh around in the rain and snow and ice and sleet.

The Era of the Donkey has begun and you will know that it is hear. We will earn the Vote for the Donkey. As JFK said, “Ask what you can do for your country, not what your country can do for you.” We will stand proud and work for the future of our country. To all a good night’s sleep. Tomorrow, the work begins, the blue wave rises.

Matthew Holmes
MSU College Democrats President

Republicans F'in suck. At least the non-TJ half of the CR's led by Benedict herself. The TJ half is pretty awesome, even though we disagree on 90 plus percent of national and state issues in which the left (me) is right on all of them.

Congratulations, Matt. You have my full support (not that it matters anymore). I expect many good things to come, even if some of them are done in a non-partisan or bi-partisan way.
