Matt's SA Dream Team Picks for 2005-2006
I will provide my current SA Dream Team if i got to choose all the SA Exec officers next year (not including myself; that might be unfair). Of course, i do not know everyone so some qualified people i might leave out.
SA President is obvious = Edward Sanders. He is clearly the best choice for SA President. No one else is really in his league as far as connections, work ethic, knowledge of the student body & government. Sanders could be the best SA president of all time.
Vice-President = Adam Telle. You may not agree with everything he does and some of it may be excessive, but he has shown more so far than any SA President I have seen. He is visible, he is vocal, he works incredibly hard, he is conniving (good & bad), he is intelligent, he is cunning. (by the way, i voted for juan and disagree with adam on several issues). could his SA do more? Yes. But his VP and AG seem to suck as they are MIA. Luckily he has Lamonte.
Attorney General = Daniel Melder. Like him or hate him, no one is a better attack dog than Melder and he has tons of political savvy. He knows constitutions, state law, and cares for the people.
Treasurer = Emily Jones. She easily the most qualified student accountant on campus. And I know alot of accountants. She can manage and detail.
Secretary = From what i have seen, Lindsey Tew is the most organized person holding an office. She handles CR stuff well and would work hard. She just has to keep her emotions in check (can be firey). She would be the secretary you know.
Top of the SA Cabinet # 1 = Lamonte. He's there now and does an amazing job. He works hard, is extremely social, represents students well, and would be a great asset to accompany Sanders.
Top of the SA Cabinet # 2 = Matt Bramuchi. He has worked and done alot for all students, especially graduate students, international students, distance students, etc. and would be a very valuable asset to any SA exec
Top SA Political Advocate(R)= TJ Harvey. He is very well connected as head of the State of MS CR's both locally, on the state level, and nationally. He is also big on youth vote and involvement. He also has plenty of SA experience.
Top SA Political Advocate(D)= Nick Wilson. He also knows tons of local, state, and national politics and he too is well connected. He also has plenty of SA experience.
On campus student Rep. = Tim Jackson. He does a great job organizing socials, educational events, fundraisers, etc. and leading RHA. Who could be a better representative of resident hall students on campus.
Independent Student Rep. = Phillips Strickland. Phillips works extremely hard, communicates with everyone, can be forceful if called upon, and knows how to relate and relax.
Military Affairs Rep = John Yelverton. He lives the ROTC and the U.S. military. No one would represent the ROTC's and military active and reserve students as well as Yelverton would.
Any other postions I could list, let me know. Also, if you have your own dream team, feel free to give it. But be a little more original than having just who you are voting for for SA this year. Also, say why you choose them for that position.
Take care and enjoy.

With the exceptions of Melder and Nick (and they have both graduated!) the College Democrats are not represented here. Why is that Matt?
Hmmm, good point. One, maybe I was unconsciously balancing things out. Two, i associate more college republicans with SA than college democrats, mainly because the campus has more republicans and they partake in SA more and tend to like the SA as opposed to some college dems. Three, i didn't really think that much about political parties when doing it (notice that most of them are either in CR's or CD's), just who i thought would be best for SA and students.
Also notice that only one of them is currently running for SA office. That person's opponent would be a strong candidate to join the current VP (quality source backing acting VP's deservance of spot on the list) as AG on the SA Worst Case Team. Both CR's as the first two as worst case team members lots of R's on each and few D's on each probably. Add Clay Green from College Dems (president opposite TJ) to worst case SA list.
Okay, thanks for the clarification Matt!
I wish I had seen this sooner. Thanks for the endorsement, Matt.
