SA Rant (they get a blog)

Hey ya'll,

The SA has created a blog (thanks ed)

Yes, its nice to know the SA has decided to copy the great and powerful Edward Sanders and started a blog. Yes, we all know you created a blog like the rest of us b/c of the amazing popularity of ed's and there is no shame in that. Like us, be proud of your blog. If they copied Ed in more things, they might get more respect from students. But, of course with the SA, things take a while. Creating a blog is probably the best thing they have done in the past 3 years, comparable only to the night route and getting 20% of Starkville's 2% tourist tax. Of course, i do not actually agree with the SA taking control of Starkville's money but it could be beneficial if the money goes into conventions, convention centers, the night route, and public university to city transit. The money should go to something that benefits not only the students but the university and the people and businesses of Starkville. I hope the money is not wasted on Bulldog bash, old main, or some other party like atmosphere that should be paid for with SA funds and not city funds. Don't get me wrong, I like all of these events, i just believe a party for the students should be paid for by students, not the government through tax funds.

To the SA:
I hope ya'll take full use of your blog and use it for comments and opinions and listen to what the studenst have to say. I also hope you use your blog to keep students updated on SA events and other notable events around campus that ya'll learn of, even if they are not SA ran or sponsored events.

Having the SA blog is great progress for student input on the SA and i am glad ya'll have started one. Maybe the Reflector will mention it so more students know about it.

To students of MSU:

Post often to the SA blog and do so repeatedly (not the same thing) and in good faith. Be honest and sign your name; it gives your statement credibility. Annoy the SA with comments and opinions and be forthright. Let them know what you, the student, thinks. They are the SA. It is their job to listen and read, even if what you say makes them squirm and a wee bit upset. Flattery doesn't get things done. Attack with credibility and new ideas. And, of course, drop by their office and say hi so they can match a face with your name.

Actually, you could even ask Michael if you could borrow the picnic table at the free speech area to shout your opinion and ideas. Or just go stand by the bakery and do it. They have a nice, pretty tree there. Whatever you do, don't go ask for a booth to do it. The union and university can be annoying and there will be new SA officers before you get your booth and you might even be retired from school by then. They can be a hassle.

But that is about it ya'll, at least for this post.

Take care, have fun, blog type like never before, and as is signature, vote donkey.
