Dancing With Fear
The greatest fear in life is missing life because you fear, not the fear itself.
You know, i think everyone has their own particular fears. I think it is a natural part of life. Although FDR might disagree. I mean, the only thing we have to Fear is Fear itself. And thats probably true in a basic sense. If you didn't fear "fear," you wouldn't have anything to Fear b/c you've conquered fear itself. But in reality, I don't really think that is possible. We may learn to cope with and manage our fears but eliminating them is far from happening. And thats not to say that some fear is not a good thing because a little bit of fear is what makes the world go around. Its literally and/or figuratively safer to have fear than to not in that u can protect yourself from getting burned by your fears. Its really easy to do actually. You just avoid them at all costs. However, some fears are just unavoidable. In that case, you just have to learn to deal with them. Yeah, i know, easier said than done. I mean a lot easier.
But the thing is, that fear leads to missing something. And the fear of what you are missing and will miss is worse than what you fear. Because you want to get where your fear prevents you from getting. Now where that is depends on what you fear. And you'll likely keep missing things you want to see or do b/c your fear keeps u from reaching it. Until one day, you miss it and/or want it more than you fear your fear. That is the day you challenge your fear. Eye to eye, mind to mind. Fear has a mind of its own you know, a very stubborn one in fact. So you may fail and never try again. Or you may fail and keep trying, in vain or in success. Or you may pass on your first attempt only to be scared to never try again. Or you may take your fear and walk hand in hand with it. One shaking limb, one racing nerve at a time. Until you are in unison with your fear. And in that case, you have passed and will continuing passing through the wicked willows and changing land. And as long as you are in unison, your fear will be with you and not against you. To all a good nite.
